Had an excellent time with mommy, with various adventures including snowmobiling and moose safari-ing. Since I sent her home with 30 kg of my stuff, I've been busy yet again with school, the new term is in full force. Preparations are well underway for the biggest student celebration in Scandinavia, Valborg in Uppsala. April 30 is Walpurgis Night (nobody knows what that actually means, although Wikipedia tells me it is exactly 6 months from All Hallows' Eve) and consists of the doubling of Uppsala's student population, many truckloads of champagne, a crazy student-made costumed boat race, barbeques, and roof top parties. It would seem that practically anyone who has studied in Uppsala (and is still a student... or not) will return for the weekend before Valborg to visit friends and join in the crazy party. (Un?)fortunately, my housing complex is right next to the biggest open park in Uppsala where there are concerts and everybody has picnics, and I have been forewarned that for three weeks following this weekend, our buildings will smell like urinals... joy...
On another topic, I just spent a great weekend in the Netherlands. Friday I arrived in Amsterdam around lunch (after leaving Uppsala at 1am... I love Ryanair... NOT) to meet my friend Leon who lives about half hour away, and he showed me the sights :) Then I hopped on a train to Wageningen, a tiny city in the middle of Holland home to the most popular agricultural university there, home to several of my good friends who exchanged to Uppsala last term. I stayed first with Pien, and tried some breaded dutch deep-fried cheese, updated her on all the new swedish music, and went down to the protected river area for a super relaxing walk among the sheep. The next day I spent with Annika, and we cycled to the university, saw a windmill, watched some crap American tv when it started to rain, and had a joint skype call with other friends in Michigan and Vienna. Super relaxed weekend, and I'm not exactly thrilled to be back starting school again 8:30 tomorrow morning.

UPDATE: Almost forgot!! Wednesday night went and saw Michael Buble performing in Stockholm. What a riot... he is REALLY funny. And surprisingly good imitator of Michael Jackson...
